I'm having a similar problem. Storyline claims there is an update available, but will not update when I try to download and update. I get this message even after I restart my computer and make sure nothing is installing when I try to update Storyline. I'm not sure if it's worth uninstalling and reinstalling Storyline, in order to update it, though.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Storyline and it's works now.
But I think it's not a good solution for the next update
