updating a scorm on docebo LMS

Nov 28, 2013

Hello everyone,

we recieved a request for updating a scorm that was previously published with Storyline and loaded on Docebo lms. The request is being able to update the scorm without losing tracking information and being able to resume the course for the user.

I saw that after doing some modifications and publishing again, the lmsmanifest, xml changes the resources list, so i suppose i must also update this file together with all other file in the scorm, doing a "raw" upload on the filesystem folder of the course.

On the contrary, the LMS admin says that the correct procedure should not involve the rewriting of lmsmanifest file.

we tried both overwriting the lmsmanifest (and we lost all tracking) and updating all files BUT the lmsmanifest, in the second case the resume feature did not bring back the user to his previous state. (cookies are set to ignore flash cookies when in LMS mode)

Anyone have already experienced this issue?

thank you.

Hi Zio,

I'd agree with Phil. When you update (overwrite) existing course files in your LMS or web server, learners who previously started the course won't be able to resume where they left off. They'll start over at the first slide in the updated course. Take this into consideration when updating courses that have already been delivered to learners.
