Last year we made a work project with slides , videos , jpegs , etc...instead of remaking it is there a way to import this older completed project file into articulate storyline 2 so I can edited 2 updated jpeg slides and then re-render it as a new project? This project was only saved on a disk before we went articulate storyline 2
Was it published to the disk, or is it just a saved .story file?
If it is a .story file, Storyline 2 should convert it automatically once you try to open the project using Storyline 2. I would save it to your local machine first, then try to open using Storyline 2.
Thank you for your response Leslie , this will be one of those lessons learned and start to store my projects to an external drive for future updates , thank you again
No i do not have it, my error in not thinking ahead or what we here are calling a celebration of knowledge as far as quizzes or life lessons go.This is my first time using the community resource and you and Leslie have been very helpful. thank you both for your time and effort.
Happy to help. Actually, I am normally the one to ask the questions so its nice to be able to give back.
Heres a hint. I use an external to back up all my .story and resource files, but I also have partitioned a small portion of my local hard drive so that if my external fails, I still have my files. It also comes in handy if you are developing on a laptop and forget the external.

Hi Terry , it was only published to a disk, not thinking we would update it, then we went to Articulate Storyline 2. Thank you for your reply
Hi Tom! No matter the upgrade, you would not be able to update a published course without the .story file either way.
do you have a .story file form when you were working on it in storyline 1? that is the key to being able to updated it to storyline 2.

It's always a tough one to learn Tom, but those are never forgotten :)
