Updating Storyline SCORM LMS course content..

Aug 08, 2012

I wonder if anyone can answer this for me, couldn't find it anywhere. I am a 'newby' to using SCORM courses (like the ones I'm now creating with Storyline) on my LMS, not etraining. In the past if I did a course using html files and  a LMS resident course builder...if I had to update the content (page, text, exam, etc.) I could just do that. Am I understanding however with SCORM courses (ex: Storyline) uploaded to my LMS that I would have to fix it locally (obvious) and re-upload the ENTIRE course again, even if I wanted to just change/update the content on one slide??? There is now way to just update a page/slide?? Thanks for any insight you can give me!!

Hi!

Depending on your LMS and how your LMS works (and is governed) that's probably what you have to do.

However, if the changes are very, very simple (i.e., changing the content on a single slide) and you (or someone else) has access to the server where the content is residing (and can figure out the exact folder), one could just replace the content on the server with a newer version.

Thanks guys, that's kind of what I was thinking as well, just wasn't sure. I do have access to the class folders and files, so if it's just a small text change/update on a slide, I may try to see if I could just change that one here and find the page on the LMS to update. Thanks again, Appreciate both of your speedy responses!! Scott
