It loads the template when you start a project, then uses those layouts and color schemes that are loaded for any new slides. I'm guessing that if you overwrote it without changing the name, SL didn't load it with the new slide, thinking that it was already loaded.
Walt, you got it! I modified the name slightly, and it recognized it and loaded it in the available templates in the project I'm working on. Thank you so much!!!
