Upload my own Next button?

Aug 06, 2014

I'm new to Storyline and am starting a big project. Does anyone know... Can I create my own Next / Back buttons and upload them into Storyline? (I don't want to create them in Storyline.) I want to use my custom buttons to replace the default buttons. Thanks for your thoughts in advance!

Hi Andrea,

Welcome to the community

You can certainly create your own custom buttons. Here's a tutorial on that, although this this tutorial DOES use Storyline. But you can make them in any photo program and then insert them.

But when you say "upload them into Storyline, I assume you're asking if there's a library where you can store them, and the answer is no, at least not currently. Many people have requested, that however, so please feel free to join us by submitting a feature request

Hi Andrea and Kevin,

Just another quick thought. Although you CAN, as Kevin suggests, add a transparent button over your .png, you don't have to. You can insert the hover, down, visited, disabled, and selected states and modify these states within your .png anyway you want.

You also can insert a standard button, change from the default color if you'd like, then double-click the format painter, and click on your .png to copy the states from the standard button to your .png. The look may not be what you want in many instances, but it's quick, so I thought I'd share it!
