Uploading to SharePoint

How is your admin "publishing"? I've added a folder to my sharepoint for Articulate projects and can just drag and drop the entire folder over using MS Sharepoint Designer. Once there, I can link to the html page or even use the tags to embed the StoryLine HTML page inside of a Sharepoint page.

Thanks for the feedback.  So far the zip file worked with one of the CBTs.  If it doesn't work with the other I will share with them your advice Owen, thanks.

The best solution is to get admin rights for yourself and cut out the middle man.

But, we are having trouble with having to rename the engage.html to engage.aspx and then upload files. Is there a better way to upload elearning content to Sharepoint?

I'm not familiar with Sharepoint, also, I'm not sure Owen is still subscribed to this thread but I wanted to point you to a few other threads where users are discussing ways to load and play content from Sharepoint. This one is more general about Storyline and this one is specific to Engage. 

I'm not sure why you are renaming the file by changing the file type extension. HTML runs fine on sharepoint and changing file extensions can sometimes break things.

2 solutions have worked well for me in the past with sharepoint:

1) embed the the html page needed for your Articulate project within the Sharepoint .aspx  page (see my prior post above). or

2) Host the whole project in a folder in a sharepoint library and create a link to the html page from your aspx page using the url for the html page based on where you've stored it.

No problem at all. SharePoint can be a pain and I am no expert. But I've learned a few things in all of my struggles with it that I don't mind sharing.

I've tried all of these suggestions and I am still running into a problem.  I uploaded the files onto a Sharepoint Document library (but I noticed that one file called external_files was changed into external_ files_).  I use the Page Viewer Webpart and copy the link from the Articulate files in the document library, but I'm not having any luck.  I get either a picture of the folders in the library, or a page can't be displayed error.

Could you record a screenr to demo exactly what is happening? 

Hi I was wondering if there was any update to this issue? I am also having problems uploading a project. The files upload but when I click on the story.html file nothing happens, it just opens a blank screen.

Hi Sarah, there is another thread here that includes some steps for doing this in SharePoint.  There are probably other ways as well and the other thing that's important is to get the settings right for who you want / don't want to have access. You'll want to make those access settings to all the files/folders for your output.

Owen, when you upload the "folder" are you uploading as a zipped folder or copying over the individual files?  I'm having fun because SharePoint won't let me upload .swf files and for reasons unknown to our Admin, the upload multiple documents feature is grayed out.  Yeah...fun times.  So, ANY hacks or shortcuts are welcome.

Once upon a time I knew SharePoint much better.  Is there a different path for uploading a folder than a file?  I've only been able to upload files.

When you are in the sharepoint library, you should see a "library tab" under the library tools section.  On that tab, there is an option labeled "open with Explorer".

This opens the library as a folder in MS explorer view. Once you have the folder, you can drag your published storyline folder (and all of its contents) into your sharepoint library.

If anyone is having trouble loading multiple documents, it turns out this means your ActiveX controls aren't activated.  It's well-documented on Microsoft's SharePoint Tech Forums.  I ended up having to reinstall or update IE and I'm good now.

Still can't upload .swf files, though, and no clue why....

ASPX, MASTER, XAP, SWF, JAR, ASMX, ASCX, XSN, & XSF

Users with designer permissions can upload SWF files successfully in SharePoint 2010. More precisely, the "Add and Customize Pages" permission is required.

I don't know the specific of which SharePoint environments it does or does not exist within, but you may also want to message a few of the users in this thread using the contact me button on their profile to see if they are able to share specifics. 

Does this work for various devices? Or just PC? Example, tablets, mobile, etc. using various platforms other than Windows.

Using Office 365 SharePoint and was able to upload all files but I when I click the story.html file it downloads it instead of opening it.
