(URGENT!) Import .doc files into Articulate Storyline

Oct 31, 2013

Hello,

Do you know if it possible to import .doc files (that came previously from Articulate Storyline) into an Articulate Storyline project and guarantee that all the text boxes are changed?

Do I need any special requirements for the file, the computer or concerning the latest Articulate Storyline version (Update 3 (1305.2012)?

I've got many text boxes as well as menu entries - as soon as I import the .doc file, will all of them be changed?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Rose. Not sure exactly what you are asking. Did you use the export translation option to export the text into a Word doc then make changes to the word doc? If this is the case you should be able to import the doc and your text boxes should be changed. It works well but You should always check the slides to make sure everything looks as it should.

if you are importing a word doc from a different project I don't think it will work because Storyline will not know where to put the text because the object Ids will not match.

i hope this makes some sense to you.

I have performed dozens of these translation imports/exports from English to other languages, and I have to say (unfortunately) that it is not 100% reliable.

It is necessary to do a VERY tight check once you have performed an import - the area that seems to have the most failure is the Feedback layers on questions, make sure that you check these in detail.
