Urgent! ZIP file can't be uploaded to SharePoint LMS
Feb 16, 2016
Hello everyone,
I have a project on hand and everything went smoothly until uploading it to the LMS. I am using a LMS from SharePoint and upon trying to upload it, this error message shows.
"The learning resource is not valid. An Activity node is required for content used in Microsoft Learning Components."
"The document library (eLearning Documents) does not have versioning turned on or the number of versions is limited. Editing this learning resource after you assign it could cause unpredictable results."
"The learning resource is not valid. An Activity node is required for content used in Microsoft Learning Components."
These are the exact error message I received.
Other Articulate e-learning courses have been tried to upload into the LMS successfully and this file was successfully published into a ZIP file with the format of SCORM 2004.
I have tried saving it in SCORM 1.2 and removing certain options during publishing for a few times.
I would love to share the file up here but I am unable to due to company guidelines.
Thus, as this is of great urgency, swift help would be very appreciated!
Thanks everyone in advance!
Dean

Hi Dean Kho,
Please check publish setting and after publishing check the "imsmanifest.xml" file.
Try to upload.
Hello Praveen,
Thanks for the swift reply! May i know where i could check my publish settings please?
Hello Praveen,
I have checked the imsmanifest.xml file to be present in the published zip. file. May i know what i need to do besides locating it?
Hi Dean
have you tried uploading your published zip to www.scormcloud.com. It is an industry standard LMS and you will be able to see if the issue is with your storyline published output or a setting in SharePoint.
also here is a blog about troubleshooting LMS issues that may help you

Hi, Dean -- Sorry for your troubles! Although I do not personally have experience using SharePoint, I thought I would pass along the following threads that may be of some assistance:

Uploading to SharePoint

Dear All,
I am glad to say that this issue has been solved! My sincerest appreciation to everyone's swift replies and helpful solutions! Special thanks to Wendy for helping me out a second time!
Solution:
It seemed that my file was somewhat corrupted and all I had to do was to copy paste all my completed content into a new storyline 2 project file. Thereafter, I could successfully roll out the E-learning program on the SharePoint LMS.
What could have caused the file "corruption"?
In my previous post, I mentioned about an error with the markers upon setting triggers on them, such that the markers do not display the text box upon clicking on them in slide view. I once again experienced this issue in this E-Learning topic, which is my 3rd set of E-Learning conversion done with storyline 2. Likewise, the content was perfectly fine while viewing it in preview mode, thus, I simply worked my way around this error and set triggers only when I have confirmed and finalised the content in all the markers.
I am also unsure of how this error occurred to happen, whether it is a bug/issue with the program itself, or whether it is an issue with my laptop/the process of me downloading storyline 2. Either way, it would be good to do a check and possibly resolve it for users such that they would not have to experience this error.

Articulate has been an excellent program thus far, far exceeding all my expectations towards E-Learning and frankly speaking, I thought that I would face constant difficulties with Storyline 2 as I am not adept with software. However, Storyline 2 has been so user friendly that even I could adapt to it well.
Once again, a big thanks to everyone for your help!

Great news Dean! glad you got it sorted.
Thanks so much for the follow up, Dean, and we're delighted to hear you are all set!
With respects to file corruption, there are just a few other things I would like to add for you or others who come across this thread in the future seeking assistance.
As you had mentioned that moving your content from your old file to a new one did the trick, I wanted to be sure to share this info on importing into a new file. And this article lists a lot of really great info for trouble shooting corruption issues, including a repair in step 2. You'll also find a detailed summary of why it's recommended to Create, Edit, and Publish Articulate Storyline Courses on Your Local Hard Drive in an effort to avoid corruption from the start. :)
