I am trying to advance in one of my course by pressing the ENTER key. Though it works fine while I am previewing but when I run the whole course it does not work unless I click on the screen.
The most common reason why a keypress trigger wouldn't work would be the Object of the trigger. The Object should be the slide itself, not an object on the slide.
What do you have in the Object field of the trigger?
The keypress trigger should work correctly in Storyline 360. In fact, I created a quick sample file to test the functionality--check out this video of my testing here.
The functionality works fine when we preview, however, it behaves abnormally after publishing the file. The triggers will execute fine if the slide has the focus but as soon as we click outside of the stage (navigation panel or player buttons) the slide loses the focus and the trigger won't work.
So, please publish the file once an then run the course, you will know.
Ah, yes, now I'm seeing the problem! By clicking on a slide in the menu first, the Enter key no longer works.
Thanks so much for sticking with me through these rounds of testing. Let me get this issue in front of our team to see how we can help. I'll keep this discussion updated with any new information!

Hello Divyanshu,

I have the slide as the object in my trigger.
I have been doing some research and found out that this is a known limitation in SL360.
Is this true?

Is that different from what you're seeing?
Hi Alyssa
The functionality works fine when we preview, however, it behaves abnormally after publishing the file. The triggers will execute fine if the slide has the focus but as soon as we click outside of the stage (navigation panel or player buttons) the slide loses the focus and the trigger won't work.

Thanks for the effort you are putting into.
Really appreciate it.
Hi again Divyanshu! 👋
I published the file and hosted it on Tempshare for testing, and the keypress trigger still works correctly.
Here's a link for you to test, as well as a screen recording of my own testing.
Let me know how you make out!
Thanks Alysaa.
Could you please try one more thing?
To lose focus use the navigation panel and then click enter to proceed.
I think it's the navigation panel that is making the progression restricted.

Well I am glad you saw it.
Waiting for your response.
