Olga's correct here - if you've enabled it the user can click on it to advance through the slide. If you're just looking to offer them an indication of how much is left per slide, you may want to look at building a custom progress bar and there are a few examples in this thread to get you started.
It depends on which one you'd want to use - but they're generally based on changing a state or a variable which would show new information or elements of the progress bar. If you look at the third one in that thread by Bruce you'll see clicking on each number shows (probably) a layer, and then when you return to the base layer the state of the number changes and the temperature in the thermometer goes up.
