Use the Next/Prev button to open Layers

Aug 01, 2022

I am looking for a way to send my learner to a layer using the Next button with the previous button returning to the previous layer--I'll be using up to twelve layers. The purpose of this is to prevent group branching in any one scene. I've looked in the Player and I've looked in the Feedback Master and although I can use a small screenshot to emulate my next and previous button [covered by a hotspot and using a hidden state, for next and previous] I lose the impression the inbuild next/previous button are being used in the layer: the screenshot buttons are at the bottom of the layer as is any I place on the master. Is this possible?

A Very Good Morning Michael,

And I thank you for your welcome reply and guidance.
Eureka—it worked for me! I went to my first layer using an object shape. With a numbered variable, I set a value on the layer by adjusting the variable to 1 [for my first layer] when the timeline reached 0.25 secs thereafter the Next [or Prev] button worked with the If abc variable = 1 and so on.
I was perplexed in trying too hard, I had previously tried a text variable, thank you so much for taking the time out to offer the tip.

Not easy, working from home, in a basement in Killin Scotland! 😊
Very best
