Hi. I want my learners to enter their name on the first screen, but when they start typing 1 letter it automatically takes them to the next screen. I want their full name, not their first initial. Anyone have any ideas on what I did to have this happen? It doesn't happen in preview mode.
Is it only happening in a specific browser? If it works in preview then it would appear the setup is correct in Storyline. Want to upload your slide - might be easier for someone to help you.
Did you also check your slide properties to ensure it's set to advance based on the user input vs. not automatically? If it's set for automatically you may be advancing to the next slide based on the timeline of the slide - not specific to the user entering a particular letter.
Hi. Thanks. It is set to by user. I also have checked entering the name in Chrome, Firefox, and IE and it doesn't work it any of them. Attached is a screenshot of my screen.
if the username variable is set to default blank, your trigger says jump to next slide when username changes, which means as soon as the default changes from blank, that could be why its moving straight on.
Do you want to upload that slide and the next one - someone may be able to assist you
Yes, based on this the username variable is changing once the user clicks outside the box or presses the enter key - and then based on that it's advancing to the next slide. If you're still seeing the odd behavior with only entering one letter and the user is still inside the text entry can we take a look at this .story file? Even just the one slide would suffice.
I don't see anything attached - if you are replying by email it won't attach the file. You need to come into the forum and click the Add attachment button.

This is set up correctly the username variable would only change when the control loses focus, it would be interesting to see you slide properties.
Uploading the slide is a good way to get this fixed quickly

Hi. I have continued to fix this to no avail. I have uploaded the slide
for some help.
