Users Need to View Slide Layers to Complete Course?

Dec 02, 2013

Howdy eHeroes. My colleague recently created a 35 slide course, and three of the slides have buttons users can click to get more information. The info accessed by clicking is contained on the slide, on layers. Many users have called to let us know their course status is not setting to complete in our LMS. We think we've isolated the issue to the fact that users need to actually click the "more information/view layers" in order to "completely" view the slide. Users who view "more info buttons" are receiving a complete status, users who don't need to or simply don't click to view more info are receiving an "in process" status even though they've viewed all 35 slides.

I tried reducing the Tracking to 1 of 35 slides, but this did not work. This led us to experiement and come up with the above proposed issue. Are we missing an option or layer property perhaps? The goal is for the more info buttons to be for newer emploees who may need more info, while other, more experienced employees, could simply go through the general information and still complete the course.

Thanks in advance for any help. I hope I "articulated" our concern/issue well enough.

Hi Mat and welcome to Heroes!

It seems odd, as he moment the base layer is visited, the slide counts as viewed, regardless of any additional layers that might be present. Do you possibly have these set up as lightboxes? Those would count as separate slides.

You may also want to look at sending course completion on a particular slide, as that will ensure they've seen everything.
