Using 360 images and rotating objects in Storyline 360

Jul 14, 2022

Greetings all!

I'm experimenting with the new 360 image feature with the end goal of creating hardware training. With 360 images, the image is still and I (the viewer) can turn around 360 degrees.

Is there a way of having an object rotate? For example, on a kitchen table is a lazy susan with napkins, salt and pepper. When I click on the lazy susan, I would like it to turn without me moving my position in the room.

I know I could create 8 different 360 images with each having the lazy susan rotate 45 degrees and then flip between slides (or layers), but that is a work around for what I really would like to do.

Any clues out there?

THANKS and cheers,
Russ

Hi, Russ.

While 3D models that users can manipulate are not currently supported, you can embed them as a web object. Take a look at this discussion.

I also wanted to share a workaround by Tom Kuhlmann, and one of our E-Learning Challenges related to this subject:

I hope this helps!
