Using a variable name in a trigger

Hello! I am making an interaction where the learner chooses a favourite photo from a selection of cards on one screen. To achieve this, I've created a variable "chosencard" and assign it a unique number for the selected card.
The same photo they chose appears on a later screen. To achieve this, I've got a photo with a stack of states, one per card number with the matching photo. I'm saying eg Change State of Photo Card to "3" if Chosencard is equal to 3. This works fine but it's pretty boring copying and pasting to create a trigger for each card option!
Ideally I'd be able to say Change the State of Photo Card to "%chosencard%" so I only need to say it once! Is this possible in Storyline?

That's not possible.
Hi Rosie. Take a look at this tutorial for another idea. David Anderson shows how to use slide master layouts to hold the triggers. At about the 10:20 mark is where he starts talking about it.
