I'm trying to teach some people how to use very basic computer functions, including hot keys. Up until now, the Try Mode of the screen recordings has been a God-send, but now that I need to use hot key actions, nothing works. It says that pressing Ctrl + A (For example) will submit the interaction, but nothing happens. This is on the preview. Will it suddenly work in the published version?
When requiring users to press a specific key or combination of keys in your Storyline content, be sure to thoroughly test your published output to ensure it works as you expect. Some keystrokes are common keyboard shortcuts in web browsers (F1, ALT+D, CTRL+T, etc) and may result in unexpected behavior, because the browser controls will always take precedence:
Sorry for misunderstanding, Ashley If you'd like, we'd be happy to take a closer look at this. Please submit a case using the link below so our support team can assist you further:
I can't submit cases, unfortunately, so I really don't know what to do about this situation. It seems like any Ctrl+ command I try does not work. But something like press Enter or Delete works.
Is the reason you're not able to submit a case because the course is proprietary, or for another reason like a corporate firewall setting? Assuming your keystrokes were set up correctly, we'd really need to take a look at the file to know what might be going wrong. Are you able to reproduce the issue on a new file?
I mean, here's a very simple .story. All you have to do is press Ctrl + A and it will tell you you're correct, but it does no such thing. I submitted it.
I received a response to my ticket which suggested adding a results slight. Viola, it worked. What I don't understand, however, is why, if it's necessary for a results slide to make a freeform question like this work, why the Try Mode creator doesn't automatically insert a results slide?
Glad to hear you were able to get this resolved. And as far as the result slide, feel free to share your feedback with our development team if that's something you'd like to see changed in a future build. Thanks for your input!
Hi Ashley, I am facing the same issue, can you please help me to resolve this in detail. Though I understand your comment that i need to insert an result slide, but i am still confuse.

My problem isn't that they're effecting the browser. My problem is they're not doing anything, lol.

Thanks!
I'm surprised there's no simple explanation for this. Control + C's a pretty common key stroke...
