Using existing templates
Nov 28, 2013
I'm new to storyline. I've managed to import the color-tabs.storytemplate and have imported as 'same as imported project'. I know I can edit the Master Slides so that my tabs change. I see the triggers in the master slide. I do not see the triggers in my 'project'. I think I am missing a step. I've even tried to rebuild the triggers in 'my version' but the properties seem locked. Do I build everything in the master slide? I'm confused.

Hi there Margaret!
Welcome to the community and thank you for posting here in the forums! Sorry to hear you're having this issue with the tabs template.
Any way you could please upload your .story file here in the discussion (simply click the "Paperclip" icon in the options above the text box, and attach the .story file) so I could take a closer look at what's going on, and hopefully help you resolve this issue!!
Thanks!
Nicole
Here you go. I'm sure I'm missing a simple step. I've been continuing to work on a gatekeeper for the first slide. It's not done so don't worry about that. I'm more interested to know why the triggers don't show related to the 5 tabs.
All the triggers are on the top level of the slide master, I don't think this is a very well built template and should have the triggers moved to the slide along with changing the slides to layers, looks nice could be built better
Hello,
I’m using the drag and drop template and I am a little confused on the triggers. I am a little new to this. where can I go to find how and what triggers to use to make this work correctly
Hi there, Mary. It looks like this template came from E-Learning Brothers. Could you post the original template file so we can see the initial setup? It looks like it uses some pretty advanced techniques, including JavaScript, to get each of the drag items to show and move into place.
You can create a drag-and-drop interaction from scratch in Storyline 3. Here's a tutorial on how to work with these interactions!
Here is the original template I used.

Hi Mary,
It looks like you may be replying to the forum via e-mail, which will not allow your attachment to populate.
It does add your signature to your reply though, and you can remove that if needed by clicking ‘Edit’ beneath your response. Here’s a quick Peek video if you need help.
Be sure to click 'View' vs. 'Reply' in your e-mail to pop right into the forums and attach here.
