Using Google Forms in Storyline

I saw a few users in the Articulate forums discussing using a Google form to track user data/scores instead of a LMS. This is the perfect solution for us because we don’t want to require our users to create a new login for a LMS. I created a results slide at the end of my training and put the Google form (which requires the individual to enter first and last name) as a web object on the success layer. That way, we know anyone whose name appears on the Google form passed the quiz because they would only see the form if they passed and were shown the success layer.

However, when I publish the training, the web form does not show up. I have tried everything I can think of and nothing seems to be working. I even created a new project that was just a simple 2 question training with the Google form on the success layer in the results slide, and it worked! So if I’m doing the exact same thing with the exact same settings I can’t think of why it wouldn’t work on my original project. I even tried making the Google form on just a blank slide at the end of the presentation and it still wouldn't show up.

I have checked the security settings on my form and this is not the source of the problem. Does anyone have any ideas? I am at a complete loss here.

Gerry- I had set my Google form up as a web object exactly how you described. My form is also set up to accept responses.

Mike- Did you answer the question correctly in the Test Results Form story? It only shows if you pass the test and are shown the success layer.

I would think it has something to do with the web object being on a layer, but I don't think that's the case because when I view the Test Results Form story I am shown the success layer with the Google form, but not with the TB Training story...

Lauren,

I'm not sure why it wouldn't show in one case but not the other.  I'm not seeing anything in terms of the structure that would preclude it from firing when the learner reaches the results slide.  If you would, please submit a support case for our tech folks to take a look at.

Hopefully they can deduce the difference between the two and get you up and running.

Hang in there!
