Using HTML5 files as triggers
Sep 12, 2017
I am building a program that involves two buildings with multiple floors. The main "campus" file is a map of the area where the buildings are located and each building has its own layer which pulls up buttons for each of the floors of the buildings. The "floors" themselves are each their own separate storyline files which have been published as HTML5 files. I am trying to use these floor buttons as triggers to their respective HTML5 files but when i go to publish the "campus" file and test the linked HTML5 floor files it just opens up a new tab that says "file not found". Each floor has been saved and published within the main "campus" file but i still cannot get it to work properly. I am fairly new to this and I am at a loss currently as to how to get this to work. The finished product should have the "floors" trigger a new tab that contains the HTML5 file of that respective floor but as of right now it is unable to find these files. I have been told that for in order for this to work that the floor storyline/HTML5 files need to be linked "relatively" but i cannot seem to find any information as to how to do this. Any help would be appreciated, the simpler the terms the better.

'm not sure how to do the linking you want, but as I read your description, my first thought is "This has a lot of moving parts", and moving parts are what break first. If there is anyway you could use scenes and keep it in one file, I think you would save yourself a lot of headaches, time and effort.
Walt's suggestion makes a lot of sense. Travis, are you embedding the other HTML5 files as web objects or just trying to link directly to them on a website? Are they stored in a sub-folder under your main course? Can you post an example link or even part of your project file?
