Using Javascript to detect user platform from within SL2

Sep 09, 2016

Hi,

we are currently developing a course that uses a picture-based quad-menu that uses a hover to bring up a blurb and a continue button (Do you accept this mission...).

This works beautifully on a mouse-driven platform. This fails dismally when testing on touch devices.

I know it is possible to run JS via various triggers. So... Is it possible to use JS, within Articulate, to detect the learner's device, or the html file they've opened, and then present the appropriate version of the menu (we'd have the two versions as separate screens)?

I can't provide an example, but if this would help I could strip down the .story file.

Thanks in advance, Kim.
