I am trying to satisfy a request in meeting the 508 Accessibility requirement. I have drag-and-drop incorporated in my knowledge checks. What keyboard -controlled alternative can I use?
Sharing your experience/suggestion/recommendation is greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much. I saw of the information you provide and mis-interpreted it. Well, I guess I have to replace my drag-and-drop with something that has keyboard based alternatives. Any suggestions?
I am not Articulate staff just a forum member trying to help you - if you want you can contact me directly from the 'contact me' button up in your profile. Then we can connect privately.
If not, just give me a bit more information about the sample question with some test info

I have changed it from a D&D to a pick one interaction. Using the keyboard the user must tab to each option and then hit enter to choose Action or Object. You may need to rearrange the order of the objects but it works in principle. I have created the variables on screen so you can see when an option is selected how it turns to true or false and this is what triggers the correct or incorrect for the interaction. Hope this helps you

Hi Claudia
just found this link...looks like drag and drop interactions are not supported via keyboard
https://www.articulate.com/products/storyline-section-508.php
Just read further in that link and its a bit confusing:
Maybe Articulate Staff can clarify

Do you want to share the slide so I can see what the context of the quiz is? And are you using
SL1 or SL2?
Sure. I am using SL2. Is there a way to share that is not public viewing?

Hi Claudia
Australia - but I work all hours so shoot me an email when you are ready
Hi.. I have the same problem as Claudia and would love to know how you came up with an alterative.
Thanks
I would, too.

Hi Stacey and Isobel
have just gone back through my notes. Claudia had two quiz questions that needed rework.
One we could redo as a Sequence drag and drop where the user could tab to the drop down and then use the up/down arrow keys to select.
The second one we used triggers and variables to get it working.
Sorry its not a straight answer but I'd need to see the context of the question to give you a suggestion.
Hi Wendy
Thanks for getting back to me.
I have it so that people can drag the words and drop them into the correct box, see below...

To finish like this...

But how can this be done using keys rather than the mouse?
Thanks
Isobel
