Using multiple "Click outside" triggers on same screen?

Apr 02, 2014

Sorry if this is a repeat... my forum search seems busted:

I'm trying to see if there's a way to have a few objects outside of the stage, each with various triggers that occur when "Click outside of X" is used. Since each click is technically outside of all those objects, all triggers occur.

My goal is to find a way to have only some of those triggers occur. I tried making those objects "Hidden", but the "Click outside of X" still references those hidden items. I also tried making those objects "Disabled", but the triggers referencing those objects still occur.

I know I could use something like multiple full-screen invisible objects whose states change to have the same effect, but currently I'm researching different methods.

Thanks ahead of time!

Thanks for the reply!

I failed to mention I'm trying to mimic a "Click anywhere to continue" effect. Hot spots would work in a similar fashion to a full-screen invisible button. Each button or hot spot would be a full screen, and would result in an animation starting. Each button would changed to Hidden as it is clicked, with the next animation's button being changed to Normal. That way I could have multiple animations occurring in order according to the user's clicks, and each click being "click anywhere to continue."

My challenge is to not use a full-screen invisible button or hot spot. The "Click outside of X" was something I was playing with to try and mimic the "click anywhere to continue" effect".

Unfortunately I have some limitations at work and cannot upload an example. I will try to create a quick version on my own system and get that uploaded later.

I may be trying to find a too-easy method for this, as there are methods that make use of more objects and layers and such. However, any times would be appreciated!

CHRIS hotspot could work as a full screen button depending upon the conditions. when you send the hotspot backward and changes it's trigger it would not work the same as you are thinking. please make a rough example and show rough sketch so I can fix it.

you could use you own make states "New state"so they would not be triggered unless you do not apply trigger to it so unless you apply trigger to all they would not change. the built in states are triggered built in.
