I was tasked to use Storyline 2 to create a "commercial" style video for a website. There will be no student interaction, this is more a 4-5 minute video that will play when new users visit our website. I want to incorporate screen-shots and other content from .ppt slides. as well as audio.
Right now I am collecting supporting material to begin a storyboard for this before designing it in the software.
1. Is Storyline 2 the right software for this, will I find it difficult to complete this task?
Thank you very much for taking the time to reply and offer helpful suggestions. I agree, the software can likely be manipulated to make this style of commercial and agree about the interactivity is what benefits the learner. My bosses aren't into the interactivity part or ISD and we don't track who takes our training or score it or measure success -- this is more of a straight 4 minute marketing video and all we have is storyline so I'm tasked to now make this commercial lol.
Thank you very much, I followed your directions and have set up a chromeless player, which looks great. I am getting the hang of the timeline as well and seem to be doing ok.
My hangup now is I want an audio file, music, to play in the background during the entire length of the slideshow. I inserted audio on slide 1 and set it to play until the end, however when it jumps to slide to the audio stops.
Do I have to inset audio on every slide? I don't want the music to start over each time, I want it to play from the beginning to end for 4-5 mins.
Yes, you could break it up as a slide by slide audio. There are others in the community who have set up similar things or created a "playlist" of sorts - so you may want to search other threads to see if those ideas may help you as well.

Hi Jared!
I'm sure that this could get the task done, although the interactivity is what users love about the software so that the learner is engaged.
You can check out our library of templates here.
Hopefully someone in the community will be able to chime in and assist with your design questions :)

Hi Jared,
It all sounds doable - and I'd look at the following items to help ensure it's a smooth "video" feel:

Hi Jared,
Yes, audio is dealt with on a slide by slide basis as there isn't an overarching audio or playlist option for Storyline.
Ok, thank you for your reply. So I could use the audio editor and snip pieces of the master audio and insert that to each slide as a band-aid?
Thanks so much for your time!
