I have created a trigger which when the user inputs a certain number the state of an object changes. However, when I run it and use the keypad it doesn't work! The trigger only seems to work if I use the numbers across the top of the keyboard. Is there something I am missing?
Hi Ian- I was playing around with this earlier - would only work for me if I remembered to click the num lock key first. If I clicked the 8 and then realised num lock key wasn't enabled it locked up and wouldn't work at all. Hope you've had better luck.
I used a text entry field. In the trigger change state when user presses a key I found that pressing keypad 8 in the Key field changed to display NUM 8. Created another trigger with same change state of for same text entry field and in the Key field used the number 8 on the keyboard. This 8 displays just as the number. When the user presses either number 8 the trigger(s) work fine.

Hi Ian - Great question, and of course I do not have a keypad to test with (dang laptops).
I seem to remember that you would have to add that key to your trigger as well. I think they are treated as different keys.
Try that and let me know what you find.
I'm sure I could find someone to assist in testing if we need to take a look at your .story file.
Hi Leslie
And thanks. All I needed was a nudge from you and I was up and running.
Two triggers: First one used a text entry control and presses key 8 (on the keyboard)
Second one: Numeric entry field - presses 8 using the keypad
Brilliant. Both work fine
Hope this may be of use to others

Yay - glad that helped Ian 😃 Thanks for the update.
Thanks for your input as well Wendy and for testing what I could not 😞
Hi Wendy and any viewer

Do hope that made more sense

I appreciate you popping in with another update Ian :) Certainly helpful for anyone that runs across this thread in the future.
