Using the keypad as a trigger to change the state of an object

Apr 24, 2017

Hi All,

I have created a trigger which when the user inputs a certain number the state of an object changes.  However,  when I run it and use the keypad it doesn't work!  The trigger only seems to work if I use the numbers across the top of the keyboard.  Is there something I am missing?

Many thanks

Hi Ian - Great question, and of course I do not have a keypad to test with (dang laptops).

I seem to remember that you would have to add that key to your trigger as well. I think they are treated as different keys.

Try that and let me know what you find.

I'm sure I could find someone to assist in testing if we need to take a look at your .story file.

Hi Wendy and any viewer

I used a text entry field.  In the trigger change state when user presses a key I found that pressing keypad 8 in the Key field changed to display NUM 8.  Created another trigger with same change state of for same text entry field and in the Key field used the number 8 on the keyboard.  This 8 displays just as the number.  When the user presses either number 8 the trigger(s) work fine.

Do hope that made more sense

Ian
