I have built a course that uses triggers to link learners to the different topic sections within the course. I'd like to have the fake "buttons" change color so that after they've click on one, viewed the content and then return to the home page to select the next topic the previous one is a different color. How can I accomplish this?
U don't need to make any fake button for the homepage just give your button a visited stage with different color or you can put a check mark on it, so that whenever learner comeback to the homepage the previous button should seen as visited.
Here is a explanation of all the built in states that you could add to an object or that are included with buttons. You can customize them further yourself using the "edit states" tab next to the timeline.

Hi Diane,
Just click on the button and there's this state bar next to timeline. Create a visited state with different color. Your task will be accomplished.
