Using variable to make text from input box appear is showing up very tiny
Feb 01, 2018
Hi,
I've created a certificate activity where a user types their name in a box, submits it, and the certificate comes up with their name on it. I used a variable on the certificate. (It also shows the system date using javascript assigned to a date variable).
Everything works fine but for one thing. The text that shows up on the certificate is super tiny. You can't even see the date because that font is smaller. When I do it at the default text size you can't see it, either. This was working fine before I updated SL 360. When a co-worker creates the same activity on their machine that has not been updated, everything works. They can't open my file unless they update their SL. So now my department is afraid to update the program because using variables like this is common.
Is this a glitch? Do I maybe need to reinstall my Storyline app? I've attached a screenshot of the published file and the SL source file.

I forgot to add that I publish each scene separately, as they are different workshop certificates.
Hi Arleen,
The variable reference with my name worked normally and showed up at a standard size, but the date isn't shown. Take a look at my screenshot here, and you can test it in my Review link here.
The Javascript piece isn't something I can help with, but it sounds like that was working for you?
Thank you for testing it for me, Ashley. I'm not sure what this tells me
about my program/computer, though. I think I'll try a reinstall.

Hi Arleen,
How did my Review link work for you? If that one opened and worked normally a repair/reinstall is a good idea!
If my version also didn't work for you, take a look at the browser and version you're using? You'll want to use one of the supported browsers here for Storyline and Review.
