Validation suggestions

Jun 06, 2017

Hi everyone!

Lately, we've had a lot of minor issues pop up in our Storyline 2 courses after they've been uploaded into our LMS. Some simple things we've overlooked or forgot to edit after changes were made to the course and some larger issues that aren't present in the course when it's playing outside of the LMS.

My question is, what process/procedure do you follow to validate your courses prior to uploading them into your LMS for your learners? I don't want to reinvent the wheel if I don't have to, so any suggestions or processes you'd be willing to share would be greatly appreciated!

**Currently, the course is developed, our team reviews the course and adds their feedback to a feedback log, all the feedback is addressed, the course is published and uploaded to the LMS and then reviewed one last time inside the LMS prior to being made available to learners. Somehow, through all this we're still finding issues (sometimes weeks or months later-- as if they weren't originally present).

Hi there Madeline!

It's strange that you're seeing issues pop up weeks and sometimes months after uploading the course to the LMS. I like to use SCORM Cloud since it's industry standard for LMS testing, and it's free! You'll also want to test in various supported browsers for Storyline 2, to be sure you're getting the same experience in each one.

If something is wonky in your LMS but it works fine in SCORM Cloud, that's really good information to bring to your LMS support team. They'll know how to best troubleshoot LMS issues.
