Value Variable Change with Previous/Next Buttons

Apr 03, 2018

I am making a quiz, at the top I want to show what question number they are on out of the total number (e.i. 1 of 20, 2 of 20). I made a text box and used a variable to create that. (Question %QuestionNumber% of 30) and placed a trigger on the text box that when the time line starts to add the value of 1. However, if a user clicks the previous button to view a question it would add a value of 1, due to the timeline starting. So I created a trigger on the player triggers (Previous button) to minus a value of 1 every time it is clicked. This does not work because it does not show the previous slide, it just changes the variable value (it even went past 0 and was in the negatives). Anyone know how I can get this to work?

Thank you for writing back, we ended up just taking out the previous button because we are doing feedback slides. We don't want the user getting the answer from the feedback slide to then go back and change their answer. So we have added a review button on the results slide. My variable is working on the adding, it was using the previous button to subtract a number that was the problem.

Thank you,
Hannah
