Variable in combination with Drap-Drop question

Nov 04, 2013

Hello!

I am working on a 40 question quiz, divided up into 8 topics. Instead of a Results slide, I have a final slide showing participants what sections they "passed" and which sections they did not pass and therefore need to read more about. To do this, I am using a number variable, with a condition, to add to a count for each section when they get a question correct and then on the final slide, I have a "pass" layer and a "fail" layer.

Everything is working perfectly....except for one question that is a Drag-Drop format.  I am having difficulty figuring out how to add one point to the variable when they have placed the steps in the correct format.  Is it possible with drag-drop questions or do I need to ask the SME about re-formatting the question?

I am not able top post the master project, due to proprietary information, but I've stripped it down to the bare bones in case it might help to see the trigger and condition I added.

Thanks!

Carrie

Have a look at the attached file and see if that works for you. Since I don't know of any way to check the correct sequence in this question type with variables, I turned on the correct feedback layer and added two triggers that fire when the layer's timeline starts: once adds 1 point to your score variable, the second trigger immediately hides the layer. Hope that works for you.

Hi Carrie! It may just be the sequence drag/drop that makes it so. I know that others have used it for drag/drop successfully, although they did use feedback layers as well, and here's a reference post here. I like Michael's solution although I don't know how that fits with the rest of your course since this was only one slide.
