Variable problems!

Mar 11, 2015

Hi all,

I'm having a bit of a nightmare with a variable.

Basically, I want to create a custom schedule for each user. I have a full schedule laid out and for each session there is a separate layer with session info. On that layer is a button to add this to their own personalised schedule.

I have created a variable to set each of the sessions to be hidden on a separate slide (all set to false). Once the button is clicked, it should obviously change the variable to true. Another trigger is set to change the state of the hidden box to the normal state once the button has been pushed. However, it's not working, and it's driving me crazy!

Any help would be brilliant! :-)

Thanks,

Greg

Hi Wendy, I can't upload because the content is work-confidential apparently. However, I just need to know if my variable setup is incorrect.

From what I can see, it should be correct? Is it because I'm in preview mode?

My variable is set as:

1. True/False - default value is false

2. The button within the layer on the main schedule has a trigger to set the variable equal to true when the user clicks

3. On the custom schedule slide, the particular shape that is currently hidden as it's initial state, should change state to normal (which means you'll see it) when the variable changes if it's equal to true.

I've run that a few times, and no luck at all.

Hi Wendy, thank you, but not quite :-)

I've got two slides (1 & 2 we'll call them).

Slide 1 has a few layers - a, b, c.

Slide 2 has a few shapes - a, b, c - but no layers.

I want to be able to show the various shapes on slide 2, only if they choose to select them on slide 1.

Sorry I can't share the actual project with you, but I'm re-working it all, and it looks like I've followed it correctly from the various videos and tutorials.
