I have a scrolling panel with a text box inside. inside the text box is a variable. The amount of text in the variable could be 1 line or 20 lines. I would like the text box to resize itself according to the amount of text instead of resizing the text after publishing.
So if the user enters one line of text or 20 lines of text, the font size will stay the same in the text box. How is this done?

Have you tried setting the variable text entry box to "Do not autofit"?
You can do this by right-clicking on the text entry box and
1. From the shortcut menu choosing Format Shape
2. When the properties dialog box open, click Text box
3. Then select Do Not Autofit
