Variables

Hi I am attempting to do the following in Storyline.  

I have a slide with several transparent images.  At certain points in the course the learner clicks a button which jumps them to the slide and changes the image relating to the part of the course they have come from to a solid state.

I have a true false variable on the Add button with default set to false.

I have a trigger which says when user clicks Add button change variable to true.

On the slide with the images I have a slide trigger which says change state of the image to normal when the timeline starts If Add is equal to true.

I think I am on the right lines however the image isn't changing, any ideas what I have missed out?

The order of triggers I have on the Add button are the change value to true, then jump to slide.
