variables and multiple conditions?

Jan 29, 2016

So I'm not sure if I am overthinking this or underthinking this or if Articulate can do this.

I need to create a trigger that allows x(layer) to be shown when x(left)=1 and x(right)=1. (else do not show x(layer)).

Thanks in advance for your help!

Kind of guessing here at what you are trying to accomplish, but it sounds like this should do it.

You can change the "When" part to any action that can initiate a trigger.

As to the "don't show layer" portion, don't worry about it. Layers don't ever show unless there is a trigger that specifically shows them. (If you are a programming sort, there is no default ELSE.. to SL conditions. In fact, there is no ELSE...)

If this isn't what you want, maybe you can attach your .story file, and someone here can take a look at it.

They should attach to the left or right side of the target -- I had to separate out the values as left or right to control the combinations a bit. So try keeping the left side objects to the left middle of the target and the right side objects to the right middle of the target. And if you have any better ideas of how to control those actions, I'm super open to feedback!

Thanks for the reply...I got it working once, but then when the Try another combination is selected it won't let me drag another colour.

Also by human nature people will want to drop it right on the target (as the instruction says) so if they don't manage to grab that small drop target it will work sometimes and other times not - in the absence of that and you need the split sides perhaps you could make the drop targets a little larger to the left and right so the colour grabs.

Just thinking out aloud does it need to be a D & D or could it be another type of interaction.

Hi Suzanne

I kept it as a drag and drop and tweaked your triggers by using the inbuilt SL states of 'drop correct' for the colour buttons.  This way when you click the 'try another combination' and they select another colour it snaps the previous colour back to it's original state.

I also increased the size of your left and right drop targets to make it easier for the object to grab.

Hope that helps. - Good job for a newbie...hope you enjoy SL!
