Variables aren't showing next button or jumping

Jan 12, 2016

I am trying to use variables to jump to the next page. This did not work I think because of the avatar variables I had set (yoda=1, darth = 2).

So, I decided that maybe it would work if I tried to use variables to show the next and previous buttons instead, and I moved the variable instructions to the main slide instead of on all of the layers where they were before.

Nothing works. Sigh.

I would like to jump to the Yoda/Darth page automatically when all of the layers are presented.

Am I being too ambitious here?

Thanks

Hi Victoria

Sorry I'm a tad confused:

so the DL vs VL slide has 7 layers, you want to go automatically to the well done slide once those 7 layers have been displayed?

The set jump = true when timeline starts is never going to trigger because layers showing and hiding don't restart the base layer.

What is the requirement? and why would I get a Yoda instead of a Darth?

Thanks Christie, but this is something that is not working as expected, but I do need that forum!

Thanks Wendy. It was a model of choosing an avatar, which is why I have Yoda vs Darth.

Well, I would like the seventh layer displayed AND THEN get the well done page. Maybe I should be posting in the BBC forum.

Perhaps the best solution is just to show the prev/next buttons after all of the layers are shown.

Ok so I am missing the slide where you choose your avatar to start with?

Haven't tested this but you could try changing it and not have the 7 layers, just have those text boxes hidden on the base slide and when the user drops the object into the galaxy it changes to normal.  You could then jump to next slide when state of all objects is drop correct. That may work

Victoria,

The problem is that the test for all layers done is only done when the base timeline starts, and never again after that.

Those triggers are needed to show the NEXT and PREVIOUS buttons when the slide is revisited.

To get it to jump. there needs to be a trigger on each layer that checks all the variables, and then jumps. Check the attached version. The trigger fires when the layer timeline ends, and just uses the variables and conditions, without the need for the jump variable. You could use the same concept with the opening trigger, too.
