I am putting together an test that helps assess the learner's negotiation style. I need to write a variable and set up a trigger that will open a layer in the results slide based on the number of points the learner receives.
The if/then statement would be: If user gets >18 points then open layer ___. I'm pretty sure this is doable, but I'm a bit stuck. Any help is appreciated!
sure it's doable - if you have a story file started can you share it (just use the grey 'add attachment' button at the bottom of the post to upload it) and I'm sure someone can help you.
Hello all, thank you I actually figured out how to do it, moments after I typed this out. I have a new issue though. Is there a get a score that is based on the combined score of two quizzes, minus the combined of 2 other quizzes.
You should be able to calculate the assertiveness index with the addition of a couple of variables. I'm sorry, but I'm fighting a headache right now and I'm not in the right frame of mind to work on this. Here's a link that might help you https://articulate.com/support/article/how-to-perform-calculations-in-storyline If this doesn't help you, I'll have a look at it again tomorrow night.
I added 3 variables - CompCompro (to add the Competing + Compromising Styles)
AvoidAccom (to add the Avoiding + Accommodating Styles)
AssertIndex (to subtract CompCompro - AvoidAccom)
I placed all of the new triggers on slides 31 & 32. I added a new slide to the end so that you could test that all the new variables are working. I set the new variables to zero on the first slide in case someone retries the quiz.
Thank you so much, you are amazing. I need to do the same thing to calculate another score. I'm going to attempt it myself. Would you mind giving it a glance over once I am done? I'll attach a new file here.
I had some time to revisit this project, and I'm not sure I am on the right path. I added the variables to calculate the scores for the Cooperation Index. But I think I'm missing something.
The formula reads: Cooperativeness Index = (Collaborating Style Total Score + Accommodating Style Total Score) - (Competing Style Total Score + Avoiding Style Total Score)

Hi Latoya
here is a quick sample in SL2 that may help you.
Hi Latoya, let me know if you need any help!

Hi Latoya,
I thought you were someone I used to work with with the same name.
Can you upload a file to make it easier to understand what you are asking?
I have attached the file to this reply (I think). What I am trying to do is get an assertiveness index score which is calculated using this formula:
Assertiveness Index = (Competing Style Total Score + Collaborating Style Total Score)
- (Avoiding Style Total Score + Accommodating Style Total Score)
Is it possible to have storyline calculate this automatically?

Sure, just copy how I did the triggers and test out the variables as I did on the last slide to make sure that it's working as it should.
Hi Linda,

Thanks for your help.
