Variables Not Changing Once Slide is Completed

Oct 17, 2017

Hi everyone,

I am trying to figure out why my slides won't work. I believe I have the variables correct, but can't get the slides to work the way I want them to.

Here's what I need it to do:

1.    User clicks on First Steps button, views slides. Once returning to the Getting Started main slide, check mark appears on the purple box and marks complete. The check mark is not appearing and the slide is not marking complete.

2.    User clicks on What's the Big Deal button, views slides. Once returning to the Getting Started main slide, check mark appears on the purple box and marks complete. The check mark is not appearing and the slide is not marking complete.

3.    User clicks on Where are the Links button, views slides. Once returning to the Getting Started main slide, check mark appears on the purple box and marks complete. The check mark is not appearing and the slide is not marking complete.

4.    Once the three buttons are completed, then the knowledge check button is supposed to appear and become active. This is obviously not happening because steps 1-3 aren't working.

I would appreciate any help. I am spinning my wheels. Thanks

Hello Danielle,

I believe the reason for your buttons not changing state to complete is due to the customed "completed" state that you created.

When using custom states, you would need to use a trigger to accompany them. As a shortcut though, you can use the built-in visited state. This built in state is used specifically for that function and can be used without a trigger.

I modified your file and created visited states for each button and it worked just fine.

Here are some supporting articles about states
