Variables Referencing Problem of gaps in Test Generator Program !

Sep 13, 2013

Dear Community Members !!

I am to trying to build a test generator program where I am facing a problem regarding lot of extra spaces being left in the slide when only some questions out of many questions are selected by the user.

This is being done by inserting variables (which are linked to the question selected).

Say, for example, if the user selects Q1 and Q3 then a space gets inserted in the slide as I have inserted the reference variable for Q2 but since the user has not selected Q2, the variable is empty but the becomes gap between Q1 and Q3 then... This is obviously not correct...(file attached for reference)

I would be thankful to forum members who can help me resolve this last snag in the program for the school research project...

All best,

Dear Ashley,

thanks a bunch for your replying...I have done some tweeking around with my test generator program...

I have tried ...tried and tried so much.....but can't get to solve it...

If you click the print result sbutton at the end of the program and see the report.html fiile, you would see that there is no linebreak in the Student Answer column. All the questions appear without line break...I wan to insert a line break after every reponse. They appear in one line making it look very bad...

Can you help me get each answer appear in a new line to make it look neat and tidy...

All best,

Hi Sam Jay,

I took a look at one of your questions, and it seems that you have set up the questions within the answer section of a pick many - so that way your users aren't actually answering the question, so therefore all the "answers" are appearing within the student answers in your report as that's what they're choosing.

Here is a screenshot of of your your questions, and you'll notice the sub questions are actually within the answer field - you'll need to split these all into their own questions.

Hi !!

ya...I understand that but we are creating a test generator program whose purpose is letting the teacher prepare a question paper to be administered to students.

The teacher  has to first choose the variety of questions like Fill in the blank Q, Match the FOllowing Q and then choose the actual question.

This is done by me through a Pick Many - Survey based Question ... Thats the best I could think of making it...

If there could be a better way of doing it , please do let me know...

Thanks,

Sumit Jay
