"versionning" in storyline

Sep 09, 2014

Hi,

I just created my first articulate e-learning course

Now I will have 4 group that need to see different part of the course.

i.e : Group one have to see slides 1-70

Group 2 have to see slides 1-35 and 45-70

Group 3 have to see slides 1-30 and 35-70

Group 4 have to see slides 1-35 and 60-70

I need help to complete this in Articulate Storyline please?

Hi Dan,

the easiest way would be to create 5 scenes:

1 scene: menu, where users choose which group they belong to

scene 1 consisting of 70 slides for group 1

scene 2: with slides 60 slides for group 2

scene 3: with 65 slides for group 3

scene 4: with 45 slides for group 4

but the minus of the solution is the size of the project which would consist of 240 slides.

The other option would be to:

- create a menu screen with options to choose and add some triggers (e.g. group1/group 2)

- lead the users through the common slides (as I assume are slides 1-30)

- and then do the branching. Users would go the branch which they chose on the menu screen.

I've created a simple mock-up - could be helpful to understand my point

Hi, thank you for your help, I prefer not to use 4 courses because I learned that nothing is changing more then a project and if I have to change one slide, I do not want to change it 4 times.

I found a way to do it.

I set-up 4 variables, group1, group2, group3 and group4 as true/false.

When the user select his group, I set a trigger to put the variable corresponding to his group to true and all other to false.

At slide 30, if group1 is true, go to slide 31

If group2 is true, go to slide 31

If group3 is true, go to slide 35, etc
