Video/ Audio Issue

Aug 03, 2012

Hi folks,

again I have an video/ audio issue, where I count on your help:

I have various videos (mp4), which should be presented in storyline.

The first slide is a "Welcome slide" with text and a button on it.

on the second slide, the first video is presented (it starts ´with the slide, automatically advances to next slide.)

The Problem:

When published to LMS, sometimes the audio of this first video can be heard on the first (the welcome slide).

when advancing to the next slide, the video  plays fine.

But it's audio on the first slide is a bit confusing for our learners.

I think it could be a loading issue, and it doesn't happen every time, but sometimes it does ( I even can't reproduce this issue everytime)

Do you have any ideas how to solve it?

Regards

Johanna

Johanna,

Is the audio for the video embedded in the video or separate on the slide?

The first thing I would try is to put a "buffer" slide between the first and second slides that would a second or so. You could dress it up with a message like "loading video..."

The second thing I would do is to convert the MP4s to FLVs (using the Video Encoder). I have much better luck with the FLV format over the MP4.

I hope that is helpful.
