I'm using some FLV's with embedded alpha channels to animate footsteps along a pathway at various points of a course, and I have it working correctly (plays automatically on entering slide) except for the fact that you can click on the video to restart it. I cant see any option to disable that, so i'm just wondering what the best practice technique would be. I thought about overlaying a shape on top of the video with transparency set to 100%, but this seems like a bit of a dirty hack...... any other ideas ?

From my experience, if it's an FLV, you'll get the replay button no matter how you set up the video output settings.
Managed to get the overlaying technique to work as needed but still not ideal
