I am facing a problem with video slides in my module. I am testing a storyline course (HTML version) on an LMS. The videos are playing okay but when I scrub the seekbar back after the video reaches the end of the timeline and then hit the play button, the video never loads and keeps on buffering endlessly.
Has anyone ever faced a similar problem? Any solutions?
From your other post here, I see you're using Storyline 2. I completely understand you not being able to share your file, so with a few more details I requested above, I can try and recreate the problem in a new file. I'll be standing by!
Yes, the video is an embedded '.mp4' file. This is happening specifically in Firefox. The course plays fine in IE and although there are some syncing issues in Chrome, the scrubbing back thing from the end of the timeline and endless buffering of the video is happening only in Firefox.
I put together a quick test file here, and I'm seeing the same thing you're seeing in Firefox. I really appreciate you bringing this up, and I'll be sure to report it to my team. In the meantime, can you use the seekbar rewind button instead of scrubbing the seekbar?
Thanks again for letting us know what's going on, and I'm sorry if it's slowing you down!
So this is, after all, a bug in the application. The only way I seem to get out of this situation is by using the replay button. I don't know which rewind button you're talking about. Anyway, do let me know if your team finds a way to fix this.
So when inserting an MP4 into a slide and it is going to be the only thing on the slide when published...do we want the video to "show until end"? That seems to be the default when inserted, but I wonder how this effects the ability to seek and jump around in the video using the Player Seekbar?
I'd use the show until end, and disable the seekbar on that slide if you're concerned about users causing problems with that. You could always enable the video controls and allow users to seek through the video that way.

Hi Varun, sorry you're running into this! I haven't seen reports of this problem, so I'm glad you reached out. Can I have a few more details?
Hi again. ☺️

Hi Alyssa,
Thanks for the quick response! ☺️

Hi Varun,
Yes, this is a bug that I reported to my team. I'll post an update here if I get any new information about it!
By the way, we may be calling the same button by two different names. This is the button you're referring to, correct?
We call that the rewind button, but the name "replay button" also makes sense. ☺️
I am also experiencing this issue. This represents a serious problem for our organization.
Hi Kristian, thanks for chiming in!
It looks like you've been working with my teammate Eloisa, and she recently sent you a link to your published file for you to test.
Let us know if you have any further questions or need help with that testing!
