Hi Marielle,

When you include the video controls, the video is no longer synced with the slide's timeline so elements may not appear as expected. Did you check to see if the button was appearing later or just not at all? Could it be hidden behind the video if you changed their position in the timeline?

If you're still having difficulty can you share a copy of the .story file here with us?

When I downloaded it, Button 3 on Bloc4 is set on the timeline to show at cue point2, which is set at 372 seconds into the timeline.

It is the first item at the top of the timeline, but what that means is that it appears above (in front of) all the items below it on the timeline. Those items that begin farther to the left on the timeline are those that show up sooner.

Slide its left margin to the left, and it will show up when you want it to.

Hi Marielle,

When viewing the course the button you've set to appear at 107 seconds in ( 1 min and 47 seconds if watching the video on the timeline) does appear for me on the first slide with the video controls and I'm able to click it to access the layer. As Walt mentioned, even though it is the top thing on the timeline it's not set to appear until well into the slide.

Can you tell us where you're testing the set up and not seeing the button appear? What update of Storyline 1 are you using? We're currently on Update 9 and that's what I viewed it with.

Hi Marielle,

When you include the video controls, the video is no longer synced with the slide's timeline so elements may not appear as expected - such as the button. Meaning that if you fast forward the video to 107 secs, the slide's overall timeline is continuing on it's own, and the button will not appear when the video is at 107 secs but only when the slide's timeline reaches that point. If you'd like the user to be able to see the video controls, but not utilize them you will want to look at placing a transparent shape over the top of the controls only (add a shape that is set to have a color fill at a transparency of 99%).

HI Marielle,

I tested in Storyline 1 as well - and saw the button appear as you can see in this quick screen recording.  Take a look at the published output here and wait till it gets to the 1.46 second mark and you'll see the button as well - and I made it so that the user couldn't click on the video controls on the slide.
