Video Control issue

Hello,
I recorded my screen for a demonstration and added layers (shapes, zoom regions) to appear at different points in the timeline. I wanted to enable video controls, but when I toggle "Show Video Controls" to "Below Video" and preview it, all of my other layers don't appear. For example, when video controls are enabled, my shapes and zoom region no longer appear/work in the preview. When I toggle back to "None" for Show Video Controls, they do appear.
Any ideas for how I can enable video controls while still having other layers appear?

The biggest problem with what you are asking is that if the learner pauses or stops the video, unless you also pause or stop the slide timeline, you lose your timing. The slide continues, and the popups are not at the correct time.
