video editing

May 15, 2012

Has anyone else had problems editing videos within storyline?  Big easy edits seem to be ok, but when I'm really trimming a video down, I'll get the issue that when I go out of the video editor and back into storyline it's not the same exact edit.  Sometimes it cuts off too early or too late.

Are we still submitting bugs?  Seems buggy.

I may be exactly a year late to this conversation, but I'm having the same problem. None of the edits I make trimming seem to "stick" when I return to the slide view mode, even though the correct time stamp appears in the "trim end" field and I select "Save and Close." Interestingly, however, I seem to be able to trim the video just by adjusting it on the timeline.

Hi Lauren,

Hmm, can you please be sure you're following some basic rules to prevent strange behavior:

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  • You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.

And if you keep experiencing the same thing, a simple repair may fix the problem. If not, can you please submit a ticket to our support team for additional help?

Thanks!
