There isn't a way to cut out the middle parts of the video, but you could insert the screen recording video again on a second slide and then trim the end of the first slide and the beginning of the second to cut out that middle portion.

I hope the future release will allow the cutting so it would be easier than creating several slides for one video if there are multiple cut-outs. Your tip is very helpful when no possibility to re-record.

Hi, I am trying to do this as well, and wondered if there were updates made in the last three years that would allow this type of editing to be done.
Microsoft has a free app, MovieMaker, that makes this pretty easy, but SL doesn't.
