Hello again. Has anyone having issues with their video freezing the entire course during preview and published to SCORMCloud. I have several 10 two 20 seconds videos that the students has to click to hear different example and then select an answer. The problem is that the videos is on a separate video layers and are activated by a button.
The layers has a trigger to "hide this layer after media completes." The videos will play on the first and sometimes second or third attempts then freeze the course. The video are mp4. 1920x1080, 29.97 fps, progressive, 49 hz, stereo.
It this normal problem with Articulate?
My clients aren't happy since the courses are in pilot. ANY HELP?
I'm not sure I'm seeing the freezing as you've described - but I can't get the video to replay on a second visit to the layer while previewing. Is that what you mean by freezing? I can still see that the button state changes (although I noticed you have a "disabled" state - which once the user clicks it, and that state is applied - they wouldn't be able to click it again).
I just want to be clear on what you're seeing vs. how it's behaving for me so that I can investigate it a bit further.
Sorry for the late reply. I am sorry for not being clear. I didn't even thought about the disabled state. However, my original file has the play button state as disable and turn to normal when media completes. In this case was a narration. The client do not want the students to be able to select an answer until the narration stop. I went back to re-encode my videos to a smaller size and set the layers to automatically decides. Also, yes, the second or third replay issues what I am talking about. I am attaching file again that represents what the slide is set up.
Here is the version with the smaller re-encode video dimension. It works after more than two replay attempts, but sometimes it would freeze after five attempts. I am thinking that the larger video size might be causing a buffer issue.
Thanks for the update .story file - this one I was able to click the play button endlessly and every time is replayed the slide layer with the video. So that part is working for me regardless.
As for not being able to make a selection until the narration completes - I don't see any triggers regarding the state of your "checkbox" button to stop a user from picking that as an answer. The play button is in the disabled state until the media (narration) finishes, so you could do the same thing with the checkbox. That worked for me when testing it out during preview.
