I am really new to Storyline, and have been trying to figure this out for a while now.
I have created a new layer, that has a box, with a video on top of it (so two object, the box, and the video = 1 layer)
I want that box to start when the slide starts, and then disappear when the video is over and show the base layer objects.
I have set the timeline on these two objects to run from the start of the slide, out to 12 seconds (which is the length of the video). However, when I preview the slide, this video and box layer don't appear at all.
BINGO! It was a trigger that needed to be added from the base layer! GOT IT! I was trying to create a trigger for the Box and Video layer. I'm learning quick here. Thanks so much for the help!

Hi Tyler and welcome to Heroes,
First of all, what is triggering the layer? Is it a button, an object on the master slide, etc?
Have a nice day!

Action: Show Layer
Layer: Video and Box
When: Timeline Starts
Object: Video 1
Thanks Tyler for the trigger... In fact, if I understand what you want, you want the layer to show at the beginning of the base layer so try :
Show layer Video and Box When timeline Starts of Name of base layer
Keep me posted on this!
The name of my baselayer is not in the drop down box for "Object"...

Glad it helped! Have a nice weekend!
