Video only runs as View mode

Dec 05, 2012

Hi all,

The video I recorded this morning only runs in View mode, even though I added it using both the Try and the Test modes. The mouse animation and activity just goes along without any user intervention allowed.

I have another one that works just fine, but of course that is a different activity.

What did I do wrong?

Thanks,

Judith

Hi Judith,

If you chose to insert it as Try or Test mode, it's hard to say why it wouldn't be appearing that way for you. Is it the same video you've inserted multiple times?

You may want to try removing the screen recording you're having trouble with and re-inserting it using the steps outlined here, under the Inserting and Existing Screen Recording heading.

If nothing seems to be working, we'd be happy to take a closer look at it. Please submit a case, including your .story file, using this link so our support team can assist you further.

Thanks!

Hi all, Articulate Support got back to me and noted that the only interactivity in my video was click and drag.

Thanks Sid!

"Click-and-drag events in Storyline screen recordings are not interactive. Please review the following article for more information:

Luckily, I already came up with a workaround for the click and drag stuff. Now I just need to create a way to grade the activity (just?).

Guessing it would require variables that are set for each time the user clicks.
