Video playing
Jun 26, 2012
Hello,
I'm totally new in Storyline.
I have created several videos with Camptasia that have subtitles and I want to import them in Storyline. Is it possible for users to control the subtitles (hide or reveal them)? Also is it possible for the user to control the video (see it in full-screne). Your help is highly appreciated.
Many thanks,
VB

Hi VB,
Can you tell me what file format the videos from Camtasia will be in? I assume they will be either SWF, FLV, or MP4.
Hi Brian,
Many thanks for taking the time to read my e-mail.
I use both FLV and MP4 format - mainly FLV (but I could produce the videos in any other format offered by Camptasia by required).

VB
Hi VB,
It looks like Camtasia uses some type of "shell" to handle the captions. Thus, when you publish your video file, it also publishes an SWF player that handles the subtitles. In order to get that to work, you would need to likely import the SWF as a web object into Storyline.
Hi Brian,
Thank you so much!. I produced the file as FVL and inserted it as a web object. IT WORKS - I can handle the subtitles and the video (to be shown in full screen). I'll try again with MP$ format. Thank you - your advice was extremely helpful and saved me a lot of time.
Best regards,
VB
It also works with MP4 - I cannot thank you enough!
